Floyd Mayweather Jr. 50 Cent $500,000 Birthday car

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is known for his big-spending exploits, so his close friendship with fellow crazy spender 50 Cent isn't surprising.

But what does one multi-millionaire who has everything give another man in a similar situation as a birthday gift?

An exorbitantly expensive car.

That's what 50 Cent gave Mayweather for his birthday earlier this year, according to a lengthy piece on Mayweather in the May 14 "Money" issue of ESPN The Magazine.

For Floyd's 35th birthday, 50 -- or "Five," in Floydspeak -- designed and commissioned an open-wheel Formula One car with a spaceship-style cockpit that seats two. Fifty claims it's street legal; it's preposterously cool. The cost: roughly $500,000.

Insane.

It'll be a good companion for his $290,000 Bentley.

Another crazy anecdote from the piece: Mayweather had a member of his crew stand in line outside a California convenience store for more than two hours to purchase $20,000-worth of Mega Millions tickets when the jackpot reached $656 million earlier this year.
