Maria Sharapova is just three wins away from winning the French Open and completing her career Grand Slam after she dominated yet another opponent today at Roland Garros.
Sharapova, the No. 2 overall seed, swept away Klara Zakopalova 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Though Sharapova struggled with her serve throughout her match today with Zakopalova, she pulled away in the third set by breaking her opponent's serve three times.
She's now the overwhelming favorite to win the French Open, as nearly every other top women's player has already been knocked off.
No. 1 Victoria Azarenka lost a shocker in the third round to blow open the bracket for Sharapova, who would take over as the No. 1 player in the world if she wins the tournament.
Defending champion Li Na lost today as well, so Sharapova is one of only two top-10 players left in the field.
