The Cleveland Cavaliers have backed out of trade talks with the Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic in a deal that would have sent Dwight Howard to NYC, Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

So the mega, four-team trade is dead, and the only way Howard gets to Brooklyn is if the two teams work out a deal themselves, Woj says.

The Cavs were a key component in the rumored four-team trade that dominated headlines since the weekend.

They would have received Kris Humphries, a first-round pick and other parts in the deal

But there was a snag yesterday when it came out that Cleveland didn't want Humphries on a long-term deal.

Yesterday, a lot of people questioned why opposing NBA owners and GMs would assist in the formation of a superteam in Brooklyn. It appears Dan Gilbert has come to his senses.
