Usain Bolt easily won the gold medal in the Men's 100m dash, beating the second place finisher by 0.12 seconds.
To put that in perspective, consider that there have only been two larger winning margins in the 12 Olympics since they started measuring times to the hundredth of a second. And one of those was by Bolt in 2008 when he won 0.20 seconds.

And that was only after Ben Johnson had his winning time stripped for testing positive for a banned substance.

Data via DatabaseOlympics.com. Times measure to just tenths of a second until 1968. Olympics were not held in 1916, 1940, 1944.
