Like the Nets game on Thursday night in Brooklyn and the New York City Marathon, there were many that thought the NBA should postpone the Knicks home opener on Friday night against the Heat. But against those wishes, the game went on. But not before the Knicks gathered at mid-court and Carmelo Anthony emotionally thanked the fans for their support of the team and of the city.
