An English Town Burned Lance Armstrong In Effigy As They Played Michael Jackson's 'Beat It'

The citizens of Edenbridge, England burnt an effigy of Lance Armstrong during an annual bonfire celebrations in honor of the failed attempts to blow up Parliament in 1604 (via The Daily Mail).

In addition to an effigy of Guy Fawkes, who conspired to blow up Parliament, the people of Edenbridge also choose a celebrity each year. The previous two years, the town chose soccer players Mario Balotelli and Wayne Rooney.

But maybe the best part of this ceremony is the use of Michael Jackson's "Beat It" while Lance goes up in flames. It seems both appropriate, and ironic...
