The Most Dominating NBA Coaches Of The Last 25 Years

No league recycles coaches more than the NBA. We saw a perfect example of that recently when the finalists for the Lakers' head job were Phil Jackson and Mike D'Antoni.

Obviously some of these coaches have been more successful and more dominant and on the next few pages we'll take a look at the most dominant coaches of the last 25 years (or so).

To qualify, a coach must have spent the majority of his coaching career in the last 25 years and coached at least 400 games (5 seasons). Then the coaches were ranked based on their regular season record, playoff record, and NBA championships.

Here are the best, including a few names that may surprise you.

#15 Jeff Van Gundy

Teams: Knicks, Rockets

Seasons: 11

Regular Season Record: 430-318 (.575)

Playoff Record: 44-44 (.500)

NBA Finals Record: 0-1



#14 Doc Rivers

Teams: Magic, Celtics

Seasons: 14

Regular Season Record: 551-437 (.558)

Playoff Record: 62-53 (.539)

NBA Finals Record: 1-1



#13 Rudy Tomjanovich

Teams: Rockets, Lakers

Seasons: 13

Regular Season Record: 527-416 (.559)

Playoff Record: 51-39 (.567)

NBA Finals Record: 2-0
