ESPN Got Lazy And Recycled Old Graphics For The Sugar Bowl

During last night's Sugar Bowl on ESPN, the graphic seen below was shown multiple times. Of course, the problem is, Michigan and Virginia Tech were not playing in this year's game. This year's game featured Florida against Louisville as the Wolverines and Hokies were in the Sugar Bowl last year.

ESPN is the king of the college bowl games, with 33 of 35 games aired on either ESPN or one of their sister networks (ABC, ESPN2, ESPNU). So it is surprising that they would recycle old graphics for one of the biggest bowl games of the season.

Whether it was an attempt to be cheap and lazy and somebody just forgot to switch the helmets, or somebody just pulled the wrong file and nobody noticed during the game, it is a terrible look for ESPN.

Then again, considering how poorly Florida played, they probably wish Michigan and Virginia Tech were playing again.
