It took him a while, but John Elway is the latest to jump on board the Tebow-mania bandwagon.
Elway gave his strongest endorsement of Tebow yet, when he declared the Tebow is going to remain with the Broncos.
"Tim Tebow's not going anywhere," Elway said. "I mean, he's going to be a Bronco and we're going to do everything we can and hopefully he's that guy."
This is a complete reversal from when Elway answered "No" when asked if the team's quarterback was currently on the team. Elway now admits that the answer was "probably a little too blunt."
Elway still thinks Tebow has a ways to go, but now he sounds like it is only a matter of "when" and no longer "if."
"Do I think he'll get there? Yeah, I do."
One of the problems with all-time great players when they become involved in coaching or front office situations is that it may be difficult to truly understand how difficult the game is because it was always so easy to them. It sounds like Elway is finally learning.
Tim Tebow fever...Catch it!
