This year marks the Big East men's basketball tournament's 32nd year in existence and its 29th at Madison Square Garden.

Schools like UConn, Seton Hall, and South Florida will be looking for a few more wins to get off the bubble and solidify their spot in the field of 68.

Meanwhile, Syracuse, Marquette, and Georgetown hope to add a BE tourney title to their already impressive resumes.

The week-long madness at MSG has proved to be a sensational precursor to the NCAA tournament over the years.

From an insane six overtime game to unbelievable performances, the Big East tournament has become the pinnacle of conference championship week.

Georgetown center and future New York Knicks Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing led his Hoyas to the title with 27 points and 16 rebounds against Syracuse in the 1984 championship game.

Future NBA All-Stars Allen Iverson of Georgetown and Ray Allen of UConn went back and forth at each other during the 1996 Big East title game. Allen's shot over Iverson in the waning seconds was the final dagger, as the Huskies escaped with the win.

Ninth seeded Syracuse was a long shot coming into the 2006 Big East Championship. Point guard Gerry McNamara put the Orange on his back, though, leading them to 4 wins in 4 days en route to the conference title.
