In reality, the people that care most about this story won’t read it until it’s too late.
For one, they are currently standing in line at a sneaker boutique near you – and for some, in excess of multiple days.
The Air Jordan XI Retro “Concord” releases at midnight Friday (12/23).
It is arguably the greatest basketball sneaker ever made. And those that would argue that statement have probably never seen the shoe’s black patented leather up close.
For a cool $180, a pair of the most highly anticipated shoes of the year can be yours. Their release has caused a frenzy among sneakerheads.
Lines were formed outside sneaker shops days ago. People who had hoped to buy a pair at local Foot Lockers have been told stores are receiving as little as 12 pairs – and they’ll likely be snatched up by employees.
Since their 1995 debut, the “Concords” have only been retro’d twice. And fans’ last opportunity to buy a pair came all the way back in 2006. Even those, part of the “Defining Moments Package,” weren’t a true re-release.
Needless to say, sneakerheads are fairly excited.
