The U.S. Men's Basketball Team will face Tunisia today in what should be a one-sided affair. In fact, the Vegas oddsmakers have made Team USA a whopping 53.5 point favorite.
Just how big is 53.5 points in Olympic basketball?
Well, BeyondTheBets.com did the math. And in 16 Olympics appearances in which they have won 13 gold medals, the United States has won 15 games by 54 points or more. But it has only happened twice since the U.S. started using NBA players in 1992. And it hasn't happened at all since 1996.
So, while the game will never be in doubt. It will be interesting to see if the United States can push the score to rare heights.
