Stanford won their first Rose Bowl since 1972, so you wouldn't blame their coach if he was a little anxious to get to the post-game trophy presentation. However, the schools had agreed prior to the game that the winning coach would grant ESPN an exclusive on-field interview. Well, apparently David Shaw wasn't aware of this agreement.
Oodles of awkwardness ensued, ending with Heather Cox delivering an "are you kidding?" while her microphone was still hot.
